Elder Abuse
Abuse to elderly persons and people with a disability is important to identify and distinguish.
Elderly abuse can be perpetrated by children on their parents; it can be deceiving actions for personal financial gain, manipulation as well as physical and psychological abuse. Carers can also be abusive of a person they are caring for if they are depriving them of their specific needs and not providing adequate care, if they are neglecting the person’s health and well-being and mistreating the person.
