Mid Lent Prayer for Peace 2023
The New South Ecumenical Council is holding its annual Mid Lent Prayer for Peace on Tuesday 14 March 2023 at St Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lidcombe. The natural disaster claimed the lives of 47,000 people in the region of Turkey and Syria and the number is still growing. The Council is praying in solidarity with our member churches who have their Mother Church and their communities in these affected areas. Ukrainian’s still suffering from the war with Russia. The Council prays for peace in Armenia, so that 120,00 Armenians who are without basic needs and shelter may receive the assistance needed. The internal conflict in Ethiopia is still going. The Palestinian’s cause in West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem is still unresolved. The Council prays for peace. Please join us on the night.
