The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

This year the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity was held at St Paul’s Anglican Church in Burwood. In the Northern Hemisphere, the service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is held annually in January. In the Southern Hemisphere, service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity occurs in the week leading to the Feast of Pentecost according to the Western Christian calendar. The Rector of St Paul’s Anglican Church, the Revd Dr. James Collins OAM led the service.

The homily was delivered by Bishop Daniel from the Coptic Orthodox Church Diocese of Sydney. There were several Christian Church Traditions present from both Western and Eastern traditions.

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is an opportunity for Church leaders and laity to come together and hear the Spirit of God speak about visible unity. A special thanks to the Rector of St Paul’s Anglican Church, the Revd Dr. James Collins OAM, and to St Paul’s Anglican Church.
